True
Review Update:
True is no longer a recommended service, they seem to have some major issues with their site and functionality. We recommend you use eHarmony instead.
Review:
True is a solid site with a focus on safety. They screen their members against the largest criminal records database available online. They also claim they will prosecute any members who are married and claim to be single. This is a refreshing approach to online personal ads.
At True you get to choose whether you are interested in Dating, Long-term Relationship, or both. The signup process is very brief. You can leave many selections as "not specified" and fill them in later. You will be prompted to enter a credit or debit card to start your free trial, but you can click elsewhere on the site and start the free trial later.
You will be able to search the member profiles, take the true compatibility test (similar to
eharmony), and see who is online. You won't have much functionality of the advanced features of the site, unless you put in a credit card for the free trial. If you decide to not pay, they have a simple toll-free number to call before your trial expires.
They are one of the newer sites, but already have over 3 million members. With background checks, prosecution of married people posing as singles and compatibility matching, True is definitely worth checking out.
